In today's mail we received a sweet thank you letter from Astrid. We recently sent her a small birthday gift. The project helps provide the gift to your sponsored child from the money you send to Compassion. I am not sure of the exchange rate but they really stretched every penny. As I recall I only sent $15 or $20 and they provided her with a pair of tennis shoes, sandals, 4 blouses and hair accessories. Even at local thrifty stores purchasing recycled clothing and shoes I think you would be hard pressed to get that kind of return. I am so thrilled that the gift was used to purchase items that she really needed. We have sponsored Astrid for 4 years now and she just turned 14 in September. What a blessing she is in our life!
