We just received in the mail a new picture of Astrid. It’s like watching the boys grow up. They really do sprout up over night. Astrid is a year younger than the boys born on July 24th, 1995. I just sent letters to both Lidia and Astrid. I always seem to send a bunch of mail all at once and then miss a few weeks. I am still working on being more faithful at writing to both girls as I know how important our letters are.
I read that Compassion International was recently featured in Charity Navigator's article, Separating the Best from the Rest, recognizing the charities that have earned the most consecutive four-star ratings.
Compassion International was the only organization of its kind to win seven consecutive four-star ratings from the nation's largest independent evaluator of charities. Charities are rated by evaluating organizational efficiency and organizational capacity. Evaluations are based on the financial information provided in tax returns and by comparing the performance of the charity with the performance of similar charities in seven key performance categories.
It really inspires a lot of trust in the charity that you have selected to verify their rating before donating. With helping over a million children in 24 countries is imperative that they manage the charity in a responsible manner. I would recommend checking the Charity Navigator site when researching a charity before giving. http://www.charitynavigator.org/
